Start Owning A Business Today

November 18th, 2009

There are some stories which have a happy ending and one of them is called owning your own setup!

As the economy scene gets bleaker, a lot of people are looking at alternate opportunities of earning an income. But what normally happens is that because we are used to living life in a set way, change of any kind frightens us. If the change happens to be a 180 degrees one then fear overtakes and makes the mind confused creating conflict.

If you have read the poem “The road less traveled” by Robert Frost, then there is a thought in it which is worth contemplating:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference

While some people see recession as a bad thing, there are some who are embracing the economical change to follow their dreams. One dream which is clearly available to all and one which has its roots in reality is the transition from employment to entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship provides a way to build wealth and do something you love without being answerable to others.

But on the offside, building a business from start has its challenges – the financial, risks, the time needed to grow the business and the fear of the unknown itself.

A good midpoint between starting a business and working for a company is the franchisee option. There are small to medium sized companies which are on the look out for individuals who can represent the parent company in their territory. The advantage for the parent company is business expansion and for the person who starts the franchise it is an opportunity to experience the fruits of entrepreneurship without the labor.

For example, Dux Marketing a successful small marketing company is strengthening its business by adding franchises across US. The fact that while many companies are walking employees to the door, the fact that Dux marketing is growing its business speaks for its confidence in the current market environment coupled with its own success stories.

To be a franchisee for a marketing company like Dux Marketing does not require you to be a marketing wizard. What is important is the individual’s commitment to entrepreneurship and the know how to grow the business in his or her territory. By providing necessary training and the required tools a franchisee can start off almost as soon as the formalities are completed.

Who says that pink slips are bad news? Change the color of a pink slip to green and you will be soon whistling on your way to the bank.

Becoming An Entrepreneur

November 18th, 2009

Becoming an entrepreneur is not as difficult as scaling a mountain with high heeled shoes.

The shift is difficult when you have to establish your brand identity from scratch to attract customers. But in a different scenario, if you can ride on a recognized brand name, then you have already crossed half the journey towards starting your own business. A Franchise is a very attractive proposition for those of you who want to make a change but prefer to have a safety net. It is especially created for those who prefer a midpoint between the known devil and the unknown angel. Well, working for a company can be the devil sometimes – boring, repetitive, risky too (remember pink slips) and slow growth. Franchise opportunities can open many doors not to mention new earnings, wider circle, freedom from boredom and most importantly a feeling of achievement.

Franchises are, as mentioned earlier, midpoints, but what really is important is the fact that they are not just midpoints! They are circles which are constantly widening and growing and that really is the fun part in owning a franchise. This really means that it is up to you to grow your own business as large as you want it to grow. There really are no boundaries. But if you are worried about how to even step onto the growth path, then that is where the parent company provides the jogger shoes. With the parent company providing the know-how required to make you successful, you can buckle up for the run.

Once the preliminary investments have been made, you automatically become responsible for driving business in your area. As a start-up, it can be exceedingly challenging to break into the small business segment. However, as a Dux Marketing franchisee you can ride on our knowledge and can grow the business in your territory. Some of the efforts might be similar to those you did as an employee, but now you are not helping another’s business. It is your own!

So, if you are really tired of reading about recession and its effect on the employment market, maybe it is time to move into a new role where you call the shots and carve your own destiny.
